Although there are uncertainties, we are still working hard on the preparation work….

Lifeline Express hospital eye-train has conducted free operations for more than 210,000 underprivileged cataract patients in Mainland China since its inception in July 1997. During the period, Lifeline Express has also set up 86 Eye Centres in local hospitals, to train and to enhance their eye doctors’ competences. Hence, more eye disease patients can benefit from Lifeline Express.

In 2014, Lifeline Express extended its scope of service to diabetics by launching a Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) Screening Program. The program aims to arouse the public’s awareness of DR. As early detection and timely treatment for DR patients are important to prevent them from losing their eyesight. Prevention is always better than cure.

With the support from all walks of life in the community, Lifeline Express is able to continue its sight saving mission.

"Because we take from the society, we should give back to the community." With this belief, The Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club has been actively involved in charity work, organizing and participating in various social caring projects, promoting sports & leisure activities, while aiming to help all those who are in need from different walks of life.

In 2010, The Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club joined force with Lifeline Express and co-organized the charity run / walk event to raise funds for the hospital eye-trains. The event was successfully held and attracted over 1,000 participants. With such popularity, the two parties shall collaborate again in November 2020, and a carnival will also be incorporated into the itinerary to make the event more fun and entertaining for all participants.
