Registration for the Lifeline Express Charity Run / Walk 2026 is now open.
Lifeline Express sight saving mission was started by a hospital Eye-train in July 1997 to provide free surgery for underprivilege cataract patients in the mainland. Since then, the Eye-trains have helped restore sight for more than 250,000 patients. Other than the Eye-trains, Lifeline Express has also set up 97 Eye Centres in the mainland to train and enhance the competence of local eye doctors, so can benefit more patients with eye diseases.
Starting in 2024, Lifeline Express has launched a Free Fundus Eye Screening Program in Hong Kong. This program aims to raise public awareness of eye health and to facilitate early detection of eye diseases, as well as the prevention of permanent vision damage. To date, over 10,000 residents have received screenings. This year, the Lifeline Express has initiated the “Free Cross-border Cataract Surgery Program”, with an initial quota of 200 free surgical slots, enabling patients who have been waiting long periods for cataract surgery in public hospitals to regain their vision sooner.
Your support can help Lifeline Express continue save the sight of the needy.
